I. List of Service writer duties:
  1. Ford Automotive Service Advisors / Service Writers greet customers and assist them with any inquiries they may have
  2. Automotive Service Advisors / Service Writers perform vehicle walk around and documentation of customer concerns to enable the Technician to properly diagnose and service the vehicle.
  3. Consult with customer on applicable service specials.
  4. Ford Automotive  Service Advisors prioritize required services, and be prepared to provide options upon request.
  5. Document declines for services and ask for follow-up on future service considerations
  6. Keep customer informed on completion times, service expenses, and possible changes.
  7. Service Advisors remain involved with delivery of vehicle to customer upon completion to assure all customer concerns can be addressed.
  8. Provide concierge support for all owner inquiries, whether phone or in person, to assure the customer does not get mishandled.
  9. Spend quality time building relationship with the customer. 
  10. Know the product well enough to answer characteristic and operational questions regarding the customer’s vehicle
II. List of Service writer qualifications
  1. Must be willing to follow all safety procedures and work in a safe manner.
  2. Must be able to work in a results-oriented, fast-paced environment as part of a team.
  3. Must be a self-starter and willing to take the initiative, able and willing to work without direct supervision, and be willing to attend appropriate training sessions.
  4. High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  5. At lease one year of relevant commercial truck service and/or service writing experience is preferred.
  6. Good oral and written communication ability.
  7. Good computer skills.
  8. Must be able to pass a background check including employment history, SSN verification, criminal history, etc.
  9. Must be able to pass a physical exam and drug test (hair-based).
