I. List of Web writer
duties:
- Researches, writes, edits, proofs and formats product descriptions for catalog. This includes developing relationships with buying groups and production team to understand key product features and seasonal and corporate trends to better generate sales-oriented content.
- Produces value-added content to help the customer make a purchasing decision (i.e. shopping guides, size charts, glossaries and helpful tips). Responsible for researching these needs and opportunities and producing “best practices” plans and implementing the value-added content.
- Responsible for partnering with E-Commerce product editors to audit and update all content prior to deployment to customers
- Ensures that copy is accurate and effective in communicating the desired message, consults with internal staff on requirements for Web development projects and works closely with graphic artist and/or project managers to ensure the appropriate look and feel
- Responsible for identifying image needs for samples, assists in creating weekly photo projections and researches missing images and samples
- Maintains organization of merchandise in E-Commerce sample room
- Captures thumbnail photograph(s) of every sample received and acts as a liaison between the photo studio(s) and E-Commerce
- Receives, processes and tags incoming E-Commerce merchandise samples. Validates that all required information associated with merchandise for production is received and accurate including receipt of all colors, styles
- Responsible for weekly photo log content and accuracy and maintenance of spreadsheets for routing and processing samples
- Performs data entry to E-Commerce content management system to accurately render a product for sale on corporate E-Commerce website

- Excellent interviewing, researching, writing, editing and proofreading skills.
- Experience developing and implementing a concept from start to finish is critical.
- Proficient in word processing and desktop publishing software and the ability to communicate well in a team-oriented environment.
- BA in Communication, English, Marketing, Journalism or related field expected.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others
- Writing samples and/or portfolio
- Copywriting experience, including marketing or other consumer product writing experience
