I. List of Tech writer duties:

  1. Prepare technical documentation for release through Agile PLM system, working with Purchasing to communicate upcoming changes and ensure printed documentation is available when needed.
  2. Post completed documentation on the Illumina support website and in Salesforce.com, adhering to file naming and metadata tagging standards.
  3. Announce new releases through newsletters, bulletins, Salesforce Chatter, and other channels.
    Implement a closedloop feedback method with stakeholders to address suggestions and corrections submitted through various channels. Resolve issues directly or manage the changes through completion.
  4. Use MadCap Flare and Adobe FrameMaker to incorporate updates to existing documentation as needed to make corrections or update stale content. Manage all reviews and communicate with stakeholders directly.
  5. Create support pages for new products by leveraging content from associated technical documentation.
    Identify needed system improvements and work with technical representatives and other stakeholders to implement.
  6. Development skills of a business analyst related to subject matter to be able to work independently and reduce reliance on subject matter experts
  7. Adherence to documentation administration process for maintaining and publishing documents
