  1. Anchoring the Morning newscasts on Saturday and Sunday and filling in on other newscasts as needed.

  5. Participating in station-sponsored events both at the station and out in the community.

  7. Gathering and delivering vo's, vo/sots, packages and ENG/SNG live shots for daily newscasts, WTAE.com and other digital platforms.
  8. Suggesting story ideas for morning and afternoon meetings.
  9. Using the TV newsroom computer system to write and type scripts.
  10. Building contacts in the community to help gather exclusive stories.
  11. Doing live shots for newscasts and news specials.
  12. Shooting look-lives and doing live shots for other Hearst and ABC affiliates.
  13. Calling into newscasts with live phone interviews from breaking news scenes.

  1. Bachelor''s degree (preferably in journalism or related area) required.
  2. Two years experience on a daily or weekly publication writing for business audience preferred.
  3. Ability to turn around complex stories on tight deadlines and to juggle multiple story projects.
  4. Strong writing, analytical skills, and intellectual curiosity are a must.
  5. Capacity to synthesize regulatory, legislative, business and scientific information for professional audience.
  6. Team-oriented approach with ability to work in interactive environment.
  7. Work varied shifts - holidays and weekends included.
  8. Drive station vehicles (Motor Vehicle Record Check required).
  9. Work long hours and overtime, particularly during breaking news.
  10. Deal with the stresses and pressures of time-sensitive newscast production.
