Serve as a writer and editor for various publications,
including the Penn Current (monthly tabloid for faculty and staff), Penn
Current Express (weekly enewsletter for staff), the annual Research at Penn
Brochure, memos, and other materials, both in print and online.

Organize and prioritize workload, set schedule, and
meet deadlines for various writing needs.
3.
Use a content management system to maintain the Penn
Current website.
4.
Manage circulation for the print Penn Current.
5.
Manage online and print versions of the Penn Current
calendar.
6.
Assist in writing and editing content for portions of
the Penn web that are managed by the Office of University Communications.
7.
Coordinate Penn Current social media presence with
Manager, New Media Communications
8.
Provide writing and editing services for special
projects as required.
9.
Ensure that the written content is compatible with and
meets the standards of University administration.

- Demonstrated knowledge of high school, college and professional sports.
- Proven ability to be flexible on sports coverage and work collaboratively in a teamfirst environment.
- Track record of urgency in reporting and writing.
- Precision and clarity in writing, with ability to present complicated information in a way that engages readers.
- Ability to locate and use data to inform stories.
- Track record of uncompromising accuracy.
- Proven ability to meet deadline and manage time.
- Track record of breakitonline mentality. This reporter will be required to post breaking news stories as they happen.
- Working knowledge of social media and how to use it effectively as part of our overall report.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) years reporting experience at a daily newspaper.
- Experience contributing to online media content.
